The President Calls Loved Ones of Shot National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The president stated he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump informed reporters. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to support policing efforts in the capital.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that instructors hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of her alma mater, stated to the press. “She was kind, considerate and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Measures and Government Changes

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and halt granting visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on a news show that she planned to visit the family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor informed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
