Kansas Senator Roger Marshall allegedly stated ahead of the rallies: "We'll have to get the National Guard."
"Hopefully it'll be non-violent. I doubt it," he continued.

Democratic figures criticized the mobilization of National Guard troops.
Texas Democrat Gene Wu contended: "Dispatching equipped military personnel to suppress peaceful rallies is exactly what kings and autocrats do — and Greg Abbott just proved he's one of them."
