Iran Claims Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
