Former Physician Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
