Catastrophe Hits as Accidental Blast at Police Station in Indian-administered Kashmir Claims Nine Fatalities
A catastrophic explosion at a security post in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has caused the loss of nine individuals and injuries to thirty-two more, according to police declarations.
The occurrence occurred when a cache of confiscated explosives accidentally blew up during handling procedures.

The explosion happened on Friday night at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where explosive materials seized from Faridabad in the northern province of Haryana state were being kept briefly.
Local law enforcement head announced that the blast materials were awaiting technical investigation when a "extremely tragic" incident during handling caused their explosion at approximately 23:20 local time.
Authority Declarations
Security forces verified that this was an "unintentional explosion" and not a terrorist attack. "Any other speculation regarding the cause of this incident is unneeded," emphasized the police chief during a media conference.
The security post endured severe damage from the blast, with neighboring structures also being affected by the intense detonation.
Impact and Fatalities
Several automobiles were "covered in blaze and turned into burned shells, with debris scattered across the location," according to police accounts.
"The force of the detonation was so powerful that some physical fragments were retrieved from close-by residences, approximately between 100 and 200 meters from the police station," stated an official source.
The majority of the casualties were security officials, along with forensic personnel, two crime scene photographers, and a tailor who was accompanying the group.

The area's Administrative Head expressed sympathies and declared that an inquiry had been directed into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have directed a probe to ascertain the cause of the inadvertent detonation. Deeply anguished by the loss of precious lives due to profoundly sorrowful inadvertent detonation at Nowgam law enforcement facility in Srinagar. My commiserations to the grieving relatives. I pray for speedy recovery of the injured," stated the leader on online channels.
