Brian Eno Encourages Backing to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A charity drive is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.
A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"
Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.
“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”
Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.
“The song holds a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Featured Artists
The track was produced after a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.
The diverse array of artists featured on Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All were part of the earlier concert, which managed to collect a considerable total for charitable causes.
Creation and Launch
Lullaby was produced by a group of producers and composers. The song features a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.
The team running the project have stated that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.
“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a figure said. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”
The context in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings reportedly destroyed or damaged.
“Given that reality, a few million is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”
The song is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from mid-December.
