Arteta Fears Fitness Woes Could Hinder Arsenal's Silverware Quest
Mikel Arteta has voiced fears that his squad's pursuit for honors this season is being threatened by a concerning cycle of injuries and a relentless schedule.

"Practice, no because we lack time to train. But obviously the fact that you are missing players, you are placing demands on other players more, there's a knock-on effect to that and it's a really dangerous circle."

Arteta rejected the idea that training intensity were to blame, pointing to a lack of opportunity for sessions. He highlighted the strain on fit players, some of whom have featured over 150 matches in two seasons.

Even after a major summer investment exceeding £250 million, Arteta insisted the club is unlikely planning to enter the winter recruitment market.
"At the moment we're just focusing on getting the players back and with luck it will be a matter of a short time," he said. "We know how important those weeks are going to be."

The team suffered their first loss in 18 matches at the hands of Aston Villa, reducing their lead at the summit of the Premier League to two points.
Attention now turns to the Champions League, where a sixth group-stage victory would virtually secure a top-eight place. Winger Gabriel Martinelli could make a club record by finding the net in a fifth straight successive Champions League match.
